  • Pricerite Professional Training Institute ("PPTI"): PPTI is an important incubator for talent nurture and development of Pricerite. The Group has been dedicated to developing retail professionalism, as manifested in its accreditation of numerous service excellence and brand awards over the years. Including five major zones, PPTI is equipped with the latest facilities for the management of staff training and development. In addition, PPTI is also a cosy place for culture building, staff bonding and opinion exchange.
  • Pricerite Retail Management Certificate Programme: an extensive training programme including operations training, sales technique training, as well as elementary, advanced and supervisory management training for different levels of employees. Other training includes drama-based activities, service training and field coaching.
  • Building Up High-Performance Supply Chain Management:enhances participants’ service quality and nurtures their sense of responsibility and professionalism, as well as facilitating inter-departmental collaboration. Participation
  • CASH Group participated in "Earth Hour".
  • We visited the landfill, enabling employees to further understand the waste disposal process.
  • We signed the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce's Clean Air Charter to reduce emissions and create cleaner air. We acted on the Chamber's 7-7-7 Care-for-Air Guidelines for the public and called on our staff to take practical steps to contribute to improving air quality at home, at work, and while travelling.
  • CASH has been a corporate member of the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong since 2000.
  • We took part in the "No Plastic Bag Day" campaign, organised by the Green Student Council to reduce plastic bag usage and non-degradable refuse.
  • We have engaged in many different governmental environmental protection campaigns, including Green Office Education, Smoke-free Office Campaign, Green Day and Action Blue Sky.
  • We signed WWF’s pledge of “Knock Plastic out of the Ocean” to promise to reduce our use of single-use plastic items such as plastic cutlery and plastic bags. We also promoted the pledge to our staff members for their active participation.


Our Business

  • CFSG joined Friends of the Earth's Green Christmas Campaign to promote the use of e-cards when sending greetings to business partners and customers to save paper.
  • Pricerite is endeavored to procuring environmental friendly products and encourages customers to use degradable merchandise.
  • We subsidise partners to purchase eco-vehicles in order to reduce gas emissions
  • We are committed to promoting environmentally friendly products, such as energy-saving light bulbs and refrigerators, to conserve power.
  • We encourage reduced paper consumption by offering shareholders choices to consent to receiving corporate communications materials by electronic means.
  • CFSG is also encouraging customers to use e-statements on our online portal in order to save paper.
  • We use energy-saving light bulbs and electric appliances whenever possible to save power.


Our Office
  • We present employees with eco-friendly cutlery set, encouraging them to prepare for their own reusable cutlery.
  • CASH has set up waste separation facilities in our offices.
  • The company is pro-actively committed to sustaining the natural world through our Green ICT Platform. This includes systems such as E-workflow and CASHARE (intranet) to build a highly efficient "paperless, IT-driven and systematic" working environment.
  • Video-conferencing systems have been installed in offices to reduce travel and as a result cause less pollution.
  • CASH use environmentally friendly packaging for mooncakes. This promotes simple packaging to reduce waste and use of non-degradable cutlery.
  • We collect recyclable toner cartridges, ink-jet bottles and paper. These materials are then sent to recycling agents for further processing.
  • We use paper made from PEFC Certified and FSC (C013067)certified plantations to help minimise chopping of natural forests.
  • Air-conditioners are set to a comfortable temperature to save energy consumption and alleviate the greenhouse effect.
  • We are implementing a lighting and energy conservation programme in our branches and retail shops. For example, we follow strict, in-house guidelines for switching off all power after close of business or operating hours.

Donation
Every year CASH contributes to a variety of causes in Hong Kong, Mainland China and other parts of the world.
Hong Kong
  • CASH took part in the Orbis Moonwalkers fund-raising event.
  • CASH sports enthusiasts joined the UNICEF Charity Run in aid of projects to help children and mothers affected by HIV/AIDS.
  • CASH participated in the Community Chest's "Dress Special Day".
  • CASH took part in the Community Chest's "Skip Lunch Day" in support of the charity's Services for Street Sleepers & Cage Residents.
  • CASH organised mooncake donations from employees to support the Salvation Army and to share the festive atmosphere with people in need.
  • To support the Salvation Army's "Red Packet Donation Programme" and its work among children, we called for donations from employees at Chinese New Year. The activity generated a great response and is set to continue every year.
  • CASH coordinated with Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS) and The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), co-organised a community project entitled "Building Power". In this project, we put our professional knowledge and skills to work to help people in need to renovate their living environment. Over 100 CASH Group volunteers divided into 18 teams took part. Districts covered included Sham Shui Po, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwun Tong, and Yuen Long. Benefits for low-income families ranged from renovation and house cleaning to donations of new furniture and household goods.
  • CASH and subsidiary Pricerite sponsored Helping Hand's "Fortune Cookies Campaign", which raised funds for the elderly. The campaign was held in Causeway Bay and received an enthusiastic response.
  • CFSG donated cash and prizes worth HK$1 million to the Community Chest in a charity show televised on TVB Jade. CASH on-line also purchased a batch of charity tickets from the Community Chest, which raised approximately HK$1 million for the organisation.
  • CFSG funded The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd investment game for trading options and stocks, which encouraged different sectors to learn more about finance and investment.



Mainland China
  • CASH worked with UNICEF to encourage staff to make donations following the Qinghai Earthquake in April 2010. The company matched staff contributions on a dollar-for-dollar basis to maximise donations.
  • The Sichuan Earthquake catastrophe in May 2008 was tremendous in scale. The Group, together with its Chairman, encouraged its employees to donate and pledged to match their contribution on dollar-to-dollar basis, in rendering the relief and rebuild operations. In addition, the subsidiaries under the Group used their strong sales network to hold fundraising activities and call everyone in the territory to help the victims.
  • In February 2008, CASH launched a fund-raising drive within 24 hours at its Hong Kong office to assist snowstorm-affected areas in other parts of China. Donations were presented directly to UNICEF to provide emergency supplies for the affected.
  • To help to ease the plight of victims of the Chongqing floods in July 2007, CASH donated RMB 1 million to the Chongqing Municipal Government to support its relief projects.



Overseas
  • On 26 December 2004, the natural disasters of a powerful earthquake off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia followed by a deadly tsunami devastated many people's lives in countries around Asia. More than 200,000 were killed, millions were displaced and many children were made orphans. CASH launched a fund-raising drive to help young survivors, with donations going directly to UNICEF.
  • CASH Group made a donation to "World Heart Day". The event sought to raise public awareness about heart disease and the need for a healthy lifestyle.


Education
Our future lies in the hands of the next generation. Social progress therefore depends on an excellent learning environment and quality education for young people. Mr. Bankee Kwan, Chairman of CASH, is dedicated to promoting education. He has set up education funds to assist students with financial difficulties. He has also made donations to different educational institutions in Hong Kong, other areas of China and overseas for scientific research and student scholarships.

Volunteering
CASH believes that contributing to society is the due responsibility of every local organisation. We strongly encourage our employees to participate in all kinds of voluntary activities for the less privileged in the community.
  • CASH Volunteers invited children from Po Leung Kuk in Causeway Bay to visit the Hong Kong Flower World Organic Farm. During this memorable outing, CASH volunteers learned more about communicating with children and about Nature.
  • CASH Volunteers organised the "Summer Movie Day" and invited children from St. Christopher's Home to join the movie share.
  • CASH Volunteers distributed Tuen Ng Festival sachets to senior citizens living alone in Pak Tin Estate, Sham Shui Po.
  • CASH Volunteers visited people from the Intellectually Disabled Education and Advocacy League in Sham Shui Po, playing games and giving out "Best Wishes" potted plants.
  • "Play@Home" aims to help parents learn how to play and communicate with their children. The programme invited low-income families from Sham Shui Po district to join training workshops. Guidelines were tailor-made to assist in building children's confidence through "games-and-rewards". The programme also aimed to improve parent-children relationships and communication through games to avoid family violence.
  • CASH organised a "Christmas Book Donation Campaign" to collect used books from employees and donate them to children in need. The books were delivered to a kindergarten in Tin Shui Wai on Winter Solstice to celebrate the festival.
  • We organised the first "Pleasant meeting" for underprivileged children. CASH Volunteers and the children enjoyed a meal at McDonald's and watched a movie together. This helped the children learn to communicate with others and feel wanted by the community.
  • CASH, together with Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS) and The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), co-organised a community project entitled "Building ‧ Power" from September 2005 to May 2006. In this project, we put our professional knowledge and skills to work to help people in need to renovate their living environment. Over 100 CASH Group volunteers divided into 18 teams took part. Districts covered included Sham Shui Po, Yau Tsim Mong, Kwun Tong, and Yuen Long. Benefits for low-income families ranged from renovation and house cleaning to donations of new furniture and household goods. The programme received an "Outstanding Partnership Project Award" from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.


Encourage Others to Give

  • As a total caring organisation, CASH cares about the next generation. We also seek to encourage our customers to help the needy. Thus we co-operate with UNICEF and place contribution boxes in all Pricerite's retail shops to collect contributions for the organisation's relief programmes.
  • To encourage our customers to care about the blind, CFSG partners with international blindness prevention and treatment charity ORBIS by inserting ORBIS leaflets and donation forms in customers' monthly statements. Forms collected are sent on to ORBIS.
